Kiana and Krile are on fairly friendly terms.
They primarily bond over ragging on G'raha.
She often checks in on her whenever she has the chance.
She and Lyse are on friendly terms overall.
She has no issues checking in on her as well as helping her, but they're not as close as they could be.
While nervous about her overly friendly nature, Kiana did overall accept her companionship.
She didn't quite have the heart to tell her that she wasn't familiar with the whole 'friendship' idea.
She was very upset when they lost her to the mothercrystal.
While she overall quietly acknowledged the Lalafell, it was in Ishgard that she mildly grew protective over her.
Feeling lost and confused, she took comfort in having a familiar face with her.
She relies more on Tataru as time goes on, because she's familiar with how resourceful she is.
Y'shtola was the first of the Scions that she met, and thus when she thinks of the Scions; Shtola is one of first to come to mind.
Shtola is actually more aware of Kiana's miqo'te traits than she herself is, thanks to actually growing up with other miqo'te.
Kiana knows that she can rely on Shtola whenever she seriously needs something.
Emet-Selch
Connections with AzemAzem and Emet met through Hythlodaeus. She and Hythlodaeus had known each other in childhood, so he was fairly eager to introduce two of his favorite people to one another. The three quickly grew to become very close friends, where Emet was usually the one to pull the other two out of some form of trouble.
Hythlodaeus was the first one to notice that the two seemed to be attracted to one another, and quietly made it his mission to try to be a wing-man for Emet. As much as he loved his two friends, he knew that Emet was far too stubborn to admit to his feelings and that Azem wasn't likely to make a move if she wasn't more than 75% sure he felt the same for her.
The two would eventually get together, having a very close and loving relationship.Additional Information from RPs/Stories:
- She, Emet, and Hythlodaeus were all in a polyamorous relationship.
- (Angst) No matter if the direct above is true or not, Azem was pregnant right before the world was sundered. While she told Hythlodaeus, she never got a chance to tell Emet.
- If writing romantically, I like to imagine Azem and Emet had a soul bonding and it's why WoL!Kiana feels so connected to him.
Connections with KianaAlthough he is likely reluctant to believe it, a part of him knows that this is his Azem. While... incomplete, there is no denying that she very much reminds him of the woman he loved so long ago. Their first official meeting would be in the Crystarium when he introduces himself to the Scions. The bits of her soul that make up the Azem of the past are very bluntly drawn to Emet's own soul, which often leads her to doing things she's not quite sure of why. For instance, making her way closer to him when he explained who he was and only realizing just how far she had gone when he reaches out to touch her (and she lets him!) or if Urianger manages to throw his card first.
It is not uncommon to find her trying to resist these deep rooted urges, often times failing. She will try to put distance between herself and him, but can't stop herself from leaning into his touch whenever he approaches her. She might be found sitting in his lap while eating, resting against him while napping, or other fairly domestic things when she's not off saving the first.
Azem's love for Emet-Selch truly transcended everything, but it's Kiana's eventual proclamation of wanting to spend every lifetime with him that sets it in stone. She truly means it when she tells him that when she passes and is reborn, she wants him to find her so she can love him all over again.Additional Information from RPS/Stories:
- Depending on how he approaches her will ultimately depend on whether she easily accepts her urges to be cuddly around him. She's easily embarrassed and if he's willing to reach out, she finds it hard to deny him.
- If the roleplay follows true to the expansion story, she's very upset when she has to fight him and he leaves. It's one of her biggest regrets from the first.
- (Angst) Emet-Selch is the only person who could 100% take advantage of Kiana. If he so wished, he could have her wrapped around his finger and ruin the Exarch's plans to save the first.
Endwalker Spoilers
She's so happy to see him in Elpis, but she's also saddened with the knowledge of what is to come. It also breaks her heart when she has to leave them.
If she didn't find a way to keep him from leaving in Ultima Thule, she'll probably end up crying and trying to find him in the Aetherial sea to yell at him.
End of Spoilers
- If the roleplay flows a different direction from the canon expansion story, at some point between post-Shadowbringers and post-Endwalker; she'll tell him that she wants to marry him and start a family with him.- One idea I've yet to truly play around with, is that in her grief of missing those she loves; she nearly uses up all her magic and aether in an attempt to use the Azem crystal's ability to summon others. While it does work, she is found by those she summoned nearly dead. The rest could be explored in the roleplay.
Hythlodaeus
Connections with AzemAzem and Hythlodaeus first met when they were still children, instantly connecting and bonding over the weirdest of things. Their little duo quickly became a trio when he introduced her to Emet-Selch, the two enjoying teasing him despite his constant groans and sighs. They're aware if he were truly annoyed with them, he wouldn't bother to be around either of them.
There is nothing he wouldn't do to make Azem and Emet happy, and often times that would mean putting his own feelings aside to see their wishes and desires come true.Additional Information from RPS/Stories:
- Often times in roleplays, he is the one pushing Emet and Azem to be together, despite possibly having romantic feelings for her. This sometimes leads to the three of them dating.More to come later.
Connections with KianaWith Kiana, Hythlodaeus very quickly picked up the familiarity of her soul to that of his good friend, Azem. It is one of the reasons he asked Emet to offer some of his own aether to Kiana. While he didn't initially understand what was going on with her, he felt the strong desire to help her with whatever she needed.
Upon hearing her story, he realized that it was his love for Azem that made him want to protect and help her. She's very upset to leave him, but he has a strong faith that they will see one another again in the future.Additional Information from RPS/Stories:
- She will definitely try to bring him and Emet back after the situation in Ultima Thule; or alternatively find another way to do so.
- She absolutely would love to start a life with him.- One idea I've yet to truly play around with, is that in her grief of missing those she loves; she nearly uses up all her magic and aether in an attempt to use the Azem crystal's ability to summon others. While it does work, she is found by those she summoned nearly dead. The rest could be explored in the roleplay.
HaurchefantIf asked about the Warrior of Light, what he would describe her as is much different than what the average person sees. He sees her in ways that she never openly shows to anyone.
Haurchefant is the most common of all the people she's shipped with to get her to open up fairly early in a friendship. He's one of the few people who insists she rely on him for things. When she tries to sneak off in the middle of the night to hunt for food or forage, he'll personally find her and carry her back to Camp Dragonhead, scolding her for not simply asking someone for food.
Often times she'll wake up curled up against his chest in his bed. Just as she would try to sleep on the roof of the Waking Sands, she'll try to make a small nest somewhere around Camp Dragonhead, to which he always finds her and drags her back inside.
He's definitely the one to initiate the relationship as he's never been subtle when he cares about someone, and fancy title or not she's not immune to his strong sense of affection. He also encourages her not to be embarrassed by her more feline like behaviors, encouraging her to purr and even mimicking her in ways of showing affection. (Such as forehead bumping) (He won't always point these out at first, not wanting to discourage her from expressing them.)Additional Information from RPS/Stories:
- In alternate timelines, she will shove Haurchefant out of the way in order to prevent him from being attacked. While she does get badly hurt, the healers manage to save her. She ends up with a scar on her lower abdomen/stomach from where she got hit in place of Haurchefant. He's fairly protective over her after that incident, where she gets scolded by not only him, but also Alphinaud.
G'raha TiaKiana and her parents briefly stayed with the G tribe in Corvos when she and G'raha were both little, before he went to Sharlayan. The two were close in age and she will joke, when asked, that she's "older and taller than Raha".Whether due to being more familiar with miqo'te or being one himself, he is able to see a lot of the subtle emotions that she tries to keep locked away and out of sight; though he doesn't get to spend much time with her until bringing her to the first. He was actually quite surprised to find her being so distant with the others during their time in the Crystal Tower, remembering the open and bubbly girl he had met in his childhood. They, unfortunately, would not get the time to catch up on life until after he was brought back to the Source from the First. While he's a bit awkward around the Scions and not generally one to take the lead while saving the star, he absolutely will advocate for Kiana to stop and take a break. He has seen it time and time again how she always puts others before herself, even reading about it in the books he poured over. While she is the one to make sure he eats, he is the one to make sure she rests, even if it means carrying her to her room. While he is technically slightly shorter than her, it doesn't stop him in any way. He can pick her up and carry her just fine and well, or pull her to rest on him instead of leaning to rest on her. Particularly fond of her sleeping with her head on his chest and his arms around her.Unfortunately, he is likely going to have to be the one to confess as she's oblivious to her own feelings.Info to come
ThancredWhile she initially finds his flirtatious attitude very confusing, she eventually grows to care for him. She cares for him similarly to how she does for Tataru and Alphinaud throughout their time in Ishgard.Shadowbringers Spoilers aheadIt isn't until her time in the First does she realize that she might actually love him. Between naturally feeling a bit more clingy due to not knowing many people on the first and opening up emotionally, she was able to appreciate Thancred for the man he had become.
It did help immensely that she considered Ryne to be like her own daughter, which Ryne very much considered Thancred like her father. She does however very much scold him for keeping his distance when interacting with Ryne.
She is the first person he opens up to about his fear of messing up with Ryne, to which she comforts him saying that the girl already adores him and keeping his distance was hurting her more than helping.
When they do end up getting together, Ryne is actually super happy which heavily embarrasses both of them.
Once he realizes that she has similar feelings for him, he becomes emboldened to be extra flirtatious with her. He enjoys watching her get flustered and try to scold him, but partially he wants to show off that she's his.
If ever the topic of children of children comes up, she'll say that she would make an awful mother, to which he counters very quickly: "Oh yeah, and what about Ryne?"
cue a smirk and her heavily blushingAdditional Information from RPS/Stories:
More information to come.
UriangerIn most roleplays/stories, she only really opens up to him when they meet again in Shadowbringers.Shadowbringers Spoilers aheadShe's actually very happy when they head to meet up with him. While she's very aware that they're being chased and a large threat is looming over them, she's also so happy to have almost all the Scions back together again.
It's often here where she gets the closest with him, having missed his cryptic way of speaking and the slight smell of books mixed with tea. She finds in him a great comfort when dealing with the troubles of the first, and oftentimes finds herself leaning against him for a nap. It's also mildly disheartening for him, as he's being forced to keep such a big secret from her.
If they haven't gotten together prior to her absorbing the light of the last warden, he confesses how he feels for her when they're back in the Crystarium. He promises that he will no longer keep secrets from her and only wants to make her happy and protect her to the best of his ability.Additional Information from RPS/Stories:
- In some roleplays; Urianger is actually the first one of the Scions that she opens up to and fairly early on as well. His overall presence is somewhat calming to her, and it ends up with her opening up to him.- Alongside the previous, in some roleplays with unique elements that cause her nightmares, often keeping her from being able to sleep well, he is the one to notice and help comfort her during the nights. Him being next to her when she sleeps actually does relax her and keep her nightmares at bay.- In roleplays in which there are two or more love interests, he often will not go out of his way to pursue her as he doesn't feel good enough compared to the others. He's still protective over her, though. She will yell at him when she finds out why he didn't tell her sooner. Lots of kisses.
AymericWhile she often starts connecting with him mid-way through Heavensward, it isn't until after Haurchefant's death does she really start opening up to him. She becomes really clingy to Aymeric and Alphinaud during this time, since Haurchefant was the first person she had ever opened up to who she had lost.
Aymeric does his best to comfort her, but as their specific roles require them to be in different places; he has to leave that for Alphinaud and whenever she comes back to him.Additional Information from RPS/Stories:
EstinienInitially, Kiana had no real opinion of him other than that the two would need to work together. He was familiar with things that she was not, simple as that. Eventually she got to watch as he started experiencing new truths about the world and the way he opened up slowly to accepting those. It was the ability to directly watch him grow as a person that made her so keen to save and help him.Anytime he appears to "help" then disappears without a word, she will absolutely scold him the next time she sees him. "I'm not Ishgardian Nobility, I don't expect small talk and a cup of tea!" or something along those lines.Half of the time he doesn't argue with her because it's hard to take her threats towards him, specifically, seriously. He knows how ferocious and deadly she can be, but when she's trying to scold him and glaring at him with the softest face he's ever seen? He would almost call it cute... almost. He doesn't want her magicks directed at him.The two would definitely have a lot of fun being able to travel in their down time, going to see new unexplored lands or sharing experiences with the other in familiar ones.More information to be added.
ZenosI just think they're neat, okay?Information to come.
ErenvilleErenville never got to see the more closed off side of Kiana, so he wouldn't know how different she truly was prior to her journey. The two met when he was gleaning in Sharlayan and, well, there was necessary information exchanged and that was about it for the most part.Kiana couldn't quite put her finger on it, but she found him intriguing from their first meeting... and the way he made fun of them for their bad impressions genuinely made her giggle. She wanted to get to know him more, but knew that she wouldn't have a lot of time in the near future to do so... Not that he would have a lot of time, either, with preparations being demanded of him.Throughout getting to know Wuk Lamat and the trials they faced, Kiana got to finally see more of Erenville and a side he likely wouldn't have shown her in Sharlayan. She can't help but giggle whenever he gets pouty, but quickly goes quiet if he goes to leer at her.More information to come
KoanaKiana is a bit amused at the fact their names are one letter different and yet are said very differently. She wasn't sure what to expect of him prior to seeing him, and even as he was introduced she wasn't sure what to expect of him still. As she learned more about him through second hand accounts, he reminded her a bit of Raha but different in that he seemed to give more credits to Sharlayan than anything else. (Where she felt Raha managed to blend Sharlayan technology and natural resources of the first in founding the Crystarium.)Though the two did not get to interact a lot during the trials, she did find it incredibly sweet how much he cared for his sister. That was what drew her in as her found family was just as important to her as her birth parents. She finds his realizations of where he lacks in knowledge adorable, especially since it's usually more of social aspects.May or may not approach with interest, but dependent on how their interactions go.
